Breakfast and morning writing was interrupted by 12 curious onlookers. Our morning emu visitors returned.
Now I love having guests I don't need to dress up for. I also feel comfortable about allowing myself to have bad hair days every day, as grooming has ceased to be a priority, with my current novel writing obsession. Scruffy looking guests like my emu friends make me feel perfectly groomed even still in my nighty at 10am. Hey I have done two hours work by then, what more can anyone want from me? ;-).
Working on novel from 8am till 2am with exercise and meal breaks. I have always worked this hard, even when young. My painting career was a 100 hour week. I loved it. This of course is why I have always had to keep a close eye on my exercise and eating habits or I can go right off the rails an overeat by grazing as I work, a bad habit I can quickly fall back into. I also can become obsessed with my creativity that I do not want to stop to move. Now that's plain unhealthy, I need to apply minimum and ideal standards of self care discipline to my day ` and I do.
If I do writing marathon this month there must be a good balance in self care maintained along with this. So out came my Fitness over 50 books to inspire me today. I do love reading self improvement non fiction books. I am striving to curtail that passion and make time to read fiction so I absorb the flow and structure of good dramatic novels and allow this to help me in writing a novel.
I am working hard today editing a chapter in my novel. It amazes me how when you think it is done and good, on a re read you see ways it can be better.
Yes it is in the editing that a good story comes though. Not in the writing.
I am wearing my BodyMedia fIT device to make sure I hit my exercise intensity, step count and calorie burn targets even with a creative deadline as my target and preoccupation.
I will do some strength training today- Yeah I will gather firewood, lol. and aerobic exercise , as in hike up a hill a couple of times to get water (bush camping).
Eating healthy (I do not ever think diet) according to my hunger scale, (no I do not count calories either.) and generally work towards getting healthier and achieving my creative goals.
Oh and :-) Love all my family so will be ringing them and loving my fireside chat with them tonight.
Oh and getting a little internet 'fix' by chatting to friends on FB for a few minutes and writing my blog. However the main focus for this month of June will be to try to have 50,000 words of my novel up to final draft stage.
The goal for this week is to have half of that target achieved.
